[How is PHACO surgery performed?]
It is a safe, simple, and effective procedure to remove the cloudy crystalline (cataract) inside your eye and replace it with an artificial intraocular one (IOL).
First, a microscopic incision is made in the cornea and a phacoemulsifier (ultrasonic probe) is inserted to fragment and remove the cataract.
The procedure is completed by replacing the damaged lens with an IOL with the appropriate prescription to give you the best vision possible.
