DIAGNOSTIC TESTS
It's a group of tests, and eye exams, performed with the most up-to-date ophthalmologic equipment, to help figure out what disease or condition a patient has; based on signs and symptoms. Diagnostic tests may also be used to help plan treatment, find out how well a certain therapy is working, and monitor the patient's response to a specific treatment.
[There are different types of diagnostic tests performed based on patient’s signs and symptoms]
DIAGNOSTIC TESTS
Computerized Campimetry (Visual Field Test)
Also known as visual perimetry, is a diagnostic test that measures the total field of vision around a fixed point, to determine if you have blind spots, called scotomas.
This test helps us to diagnose and follow up Retina diseases, Glaucoma and Optic Neuritis

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT))
It is a non-invasive imaging test that uses light waves to take cross-section pictures of the retina distinctive layers allowing to map and measure their thickness
These measurements help with diagnosis, and also guide treatment, for glaucoma as well as retinal disease, like age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic retinopathy.

Corneal Topography
It is a special photography technique that maps the surface of the cornea to find distortions in its curvature, which is normally smooth.
It also helps doctors monitor eye disease and plan for LASIK surgery, cataract surgery, and cross-linking.

Corneal Pachymetry Test
A corneal pachymetry test measures the thickness of your cornea, and is usually taken prior to performing refractive surgery; and in the screening of patients suspected to be developing Glaucoma.

Argos® Biometry
The ARGOS® is an advanced non-invasive, non-contact device that provides highly accurate measurements of the eye to calculate the appropriate intraocular lens (IOL) for cataract surgery.
It also measures the crystalline (eye natural lens) thickness and corneal curvature.

Oculus Pentacam
It is state-of-the-art technology that takes 3D images in high definition, in order to analyze and measure the anterior and posterior ratio of corneal surface areas.
It is performed to diagnose corneal and crystalline abnormalities, Glaucoma, Keratoconus and assess cataracts.
It provides the information needed to determine if you´re a suitable candidate for LASIK surgery, and calculates the exact lens power for Presbyopia and Cataract surgery.
