Wavelight LASIK
The unmatched laser precision is now available exclusively at Oftalmólogos El Tesoro. The WaveLight®EX500 Excimer Laser is the first technology to offer Wavefront mapping, to customize the laser treatment to the cornea’s unique characteristics; to correct myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism.
Cataract Surgery
Normally, the lens of your eye is clear, a cataract causes the lens to become cloudy, which eventually affects your vision. Phacoemulsification (PHACO) surgery, it’s a safe procedure to eliminate cataracts by replacing the cloudy lens inside your eye with an artificial one; and it’s performed on an outpatient basis. This kind of procedure takes no longer than 30 minutes.
Strabismus Surgery
This type of surgery loosens or tightens the eye muscles in order to achieve proper alignment of the eyes, and is recommended for all types of eye turns, including esotropia, exotropia, hypertropia, and hypotropia. Strabismus surgery is 80 to 90 percent but, depending on age and type of strabismus, and in some cases multiple procedures could be required for optimal results.
Chalazion
Chalazion is an inflammatory disease caused by the blockage of one or more meibomian glands, resulting in a small, reddish, often painful, bump inside the eyelid. This is a minor and minimally invasive type of surgery performed under local anesthetic that does not leave visible scar: a small incision is made on the inside of the eyelid to allow the content of the gland to drain.
Tear Duct Washout
This surgery is necessary when there’s a partial or complete obstruction in the tear drainage system, therefore tears cannot drain properly. It’s an outpatient procedure to open the passageway for tears to drain out your nose again.
RLE (Refractive Lens Exchange)
This procedure is highly recommended for patients over 40 with presbyopia, elevated myopia, or hyperopia having a high rate of success; up to 90% of the patients that do not qualify for laser eye surgery have chosen RLE. And have achieved their goals of clear vision without the help of eyeglasses after surgery. RLE is identical to cataract surgery, an intraocular lens is placed inside the eye, for a sharper vision without prescription glasses.
